Edit Normal in Autodesk 3Ds Max

Edit normal in Autodesk 3Ds Max is a modifier to edit the normal of the sub object level of of a geometry. Generally the direction of the normal is responsible of how much light the surface will accept. When you apply the modifier you will notice few handles appears by default. These are the direction handles of the individual sub objects that you select from the list of the attributes.
In the attribute section of the modifier the first parameter you get is the "select by". You can select the normals individually or by vertex / edge / face. If you want to change the direction of the single normal you have to select the option "Normal", or you want to select the normals of an entire face then you select the face option and so on.
You can specify the length of the normal handles and also turn the visibility of them.
This video tutorial will show you a trick where you can control the light bleed from a surface by the edit normal modifier in Autodesk 3Ds Max.
