Shell Modifier in Autodesk 3Ds Max

Shell modifier in Autodesk 3Ds Max has a specific role in 3Ds Max. This modifier helps us to give the existing geometry a thickness from both inner and outer side. When you apply this modifier to a geometry it gives you several option. To start with you can set whether you want your geometry to shell out or shell in, also you can set the inner or outer amount. There are option to override the material which are in the inner part or the outer part, and you will be able to override the edge material also. So whether you are  using outer or inner, you have the full control over the geometry.

There is a very nice option in shell modifier which gives us a nice opportunity to really make some design on the edges of the shelled part of the geometry. Bevel edges option will help you into this part. Though only switching on the bevel edge is not sufficient to see the result. You have to create a spline or curve to accomplish it. This creation of the curve is really tricky. The best way I suggest is creating this curve in the top viewport. Lets go through the video tutorial for get the in depth knowledge about this Shell Modifier in Autodesk 3Ds Max.
